I think it's better if you phrase it 
.i mi nelci lenu do dunda mi le mlatu 
I like it that you gave me the cat 

It makes much more sense than 
.i mi lenu do dunda mi le mlatu kei cu nelci 
I (you gave me the cat) like 

I sounds a bit scrambled to the listener/reader. It is much easier on
the brain if you put the subject first ("I like" - the main purpose of
the sentence is to express your feelings (I think)). But to each his
own ;-)

mi'e nei,omis.
