[lojban-beginners] Re: Announcement: LogFest At PhilCon *VERY SOON*

Oh, man, I wish I could come to that. You have no idea, that would be incredibly awesome, but there is absolutely no way I could come. With my current financial situation, that of a jobless college student, there would be no way I could afford plane tickets, room and board, and then a PhilCon membership. Not to mention the fact that I'm going to be studying my brains out (How ironic!) for exams right about then. Still, let it be known that I would come if I could.

Then again, I also wish I could be a more active lojbanist, but certain things *cough*college*cough* keep getting in the way of that. Maybe not taking as many classes next semester will help that problem, though.

As the Secretary, I apologize for the lateness of this announcement,
but I only got full confirmation 10 days ago myself. I also
apologize for the fact that many of you will get multiple copies of
this.

Philcon - The Philadelphia Conference of Science Fiction and Fantasy
(http://www.philcon.org/2005/) has agreed to have a room set aside
for LogFest 2005!

Philcon 2005 is being held at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown
on December 9th-11th, 2005. That *IN 26 DAYS*!

I know that's really, really short notice, but if we can get enough
people to show up, they'll do it for us next year too, and hopefully
that relationship will continue far into the future.

People showing up for LogFest *will* have to buy PhilCon
memberships. Please let me know if that, or any other aspect of
these arrangements, provides an unacceptable financial burden to
you. I, and others, are willing to help put up some money for
active Lojbanists who want to come.

We don't know how big the room is going to be yet, but I've told
them we expect about 10 people.
