You'll find Lojban for Beginners (aka. "le velcli be fi la lojban. bei loi co'a
cilre") especially helpful. It's a great tutorial, a little old, not
really up to date,
yet there's only one feature of the logical language that has changed
remarkably: You should know that {lo} has become the generic article
instead of {le}, what is mostly used in the velcli to make "nouns" out of
"assertions".
This new usage is called "xorlo" since xorxes was the one to come up with
this proposal.
