What would {ki} mean as a sumtcita?? {mi klama ki le ckule} - what does that
mean? I thought {ki} modified the preceding tense marker to make it the
default.

{ki} can be used by itself, too.

As I understand it, {le ckule} would then become the origin for other tenses.
For example {mi klama ki le ckule va lo ki'otre be li mu} "I'm going
(somewhere from somewhere via somewhere by some means) at a
distance of 5 km from the school".

{klama} is not the best selbri to use with spatial tenses because it has
so many spatial arguments of its own already that it can be confusing.
A more clear example: {mi sanga ki le ckule va lo ki'otre be li mu}
"I'm singing at a distance of 5 km from the school".
