[lojban-beginners] POM: Give him one!

Continuing the screenplay (http://www.tassos-oak.com/tempp/barsoomian.html)

Cut to a wordless scene of John Carter waking on Mars and discovering his surroundings, which include a stone structure he does not recognize to be an incubator of the Green Men.

A party of Green Warriors on thoats ride over the crest of the hill and see Carter as he is discovering how amazingly high he can leap in the low gravity of Barsoom.

DOTAR NORS

ua xunpre .i. go'i ba catra loi sovycifnu

SUPER: A Red One! He will kill the hatchlings!

(discovery) red-person. (last bridi) future kills the mass of individuals who are egg-infants.

{ri} or {go'i}? {xunpre} is a bridi, not a sumti.

TARS TARKAS

ui ko denpa .i. no xunpre ka'e du'i plipe

SUPER: Wait! No Red One jumps so!

(urgent) you-imperative wait. Zero red-person innately-able so-much-as jumps

{mi ckire la noras} for that difficult sentence; I had no idea how to say "jumps so" == "can jump like that." All the pro-sumti refer back to something that was said; here we want to refer to something seen but not (yet) uttered. Makes you respect the terseness of English...

Ignoring his leader, Dotar Nors on his thoat plunges down toward Carter, the rest of the troop thundering after. At the bottom, Dotar Nors is about to attack Carter but Tars Tarkas notes Carter is unarmed. Attacking an opponent who is not equally armed is against Green Man ethics, so:

TARS TARKAS

o'anai le xunpre cu jgari no xarci

SUPER: Shame! The Red One has no weapon!

(shame) the red-person grasps zero weapon

DOTAR NORS

ko dunda

SUPER: Give him one!

You-imperative give

This is the terse version of la noras. I wrote {ko dunda le go'i le sego'i}, give x2={le xunpre} x3={xarci} -- but actually, {lesego'i} would be {no xarci} so that said "give the red one no weapon." Anyway the minimal imperative {ko dunda} is a great line for the situation.
