I would use {lo finpe} here, understanding {lo} as the generic,
("a fish is an animal that...") distinct from {su'o lo finpe} which
gives "at least one instance of fish". More on this here:

But in this case it doesn't matter because as you say the
definition in jbovlaste will look something like:
