Taxonomy being the sort of science it is, my
local zoo gives pbs the genus Thalarktos,
doubling the "bear of the sea" label,
{xasycribe}.  Realistically, one is tempted to
thin insteead of "bear of the ice," {bisycribe}. 
But Nanook of the North has a good claim once the
form is worked out.
