Re: [lojban] Re: detcartu la renonoxanan.

Why should there be one official system of naming days and months? Can't we have many valid names for each day or month and let each person call it whichever they wish depending on what culture they're in, without having to name that culture in the name of the day or month? I'm not opposed in principle to having nomenclatures that include rafsi of the cultural context to which they apply, but if I use one that doesn't mention it, would I not be speaking Lojban?

How about calling them "Roman-type days," {la'ordei}? Sunday could be
"Sun-type Roman-type day," {solyla'ordei}. Yeah, it's inconvienient,
but it does not impose a culture on the Lojban community. It leaves
room for other concurrent systems that serve different purposes.
Jewish Lojbanists can use "One-type Hebrew-type day," {pavbrodei}.
Work-centric Lojbanists can number the weekdays and the weekends
separately, like:
Monday: {pavgundei} ("One-type work-type day")
Tuesday {relgundei}
Wednesday: {mibgundei}
Thursday: {vongundei}
Friday: {mumgundei}
Saturday: {pavysurdei} ("One-type relax-type day")
Sunday: {relsurdei}
