Yes, it is.

Yes, and the way to do it is what you have above. It is also possible
to join tenses with logical connectors, but that gives a different
meaning. For example: {ko'a mi puzu je bazu xanjai} means
"she held my hand long ago and she will hold my hand in the
future", i.e. possibly two separate events, whereas {ko'a mi
puzuku bazuku xanjai} describes a single event, which is,
I believe, what you want in this case.
Also, when using logical connectors you have to be careful
with the order of terms, because meanings can change.
For example: {mi klama pu je ba ku lo zarci} means that
I went to a store, and I will go to a store, not necessarily
the same one, but {mi klama lo zarci pu je ba ku} means
that I went and will go to some store, the same one both
times.
