I think {srana} is "x1 is related to x2 by a relevant/pertinent relationship" as opposed to {ckini} "x1 is related to x2 by relationship x3". {ckini} is thus more general but it can also be made more precise by filling the x3. In the case of {pe}, there is no place for an explicit x3, so defining {pe X} as {poi ke'a srana X} seems like the better choice. But you could get a similar effect with {ckini} by defining it as {poi ke'a ckini X lo vajni} or something like that. mu'o mi'e xorxes
