This is basically true, as a rough description. But you cannot always replace {lu'o le} with {lei}. For example, {lu'o le mlatu .e le gerku} is not the same as {lei mlatu .e le gerku}, because {lu'o} takes the whole connected sumti as its argument. {lu'o le mlatu .e le gerku} would be {le mlatu joi le gerku}. mu'o mi'e xorxes
