Binary is base two digital. Digital
is a quantized method for representing information where intermediate steps
between levels do not exist at the functional level. What if computers
were ternary? They’d still be digital. What if tomorrow there
were spintronic CPUs in every desktop that were sensitive enough for 16
spins? That would be base 16 digital. How don’t cats describe
themselves? “I am hungry” MI is Machine Intelligence, that is, a
machine that has the same mechanism providing it intelligence as we have
providing us intelligence. AI is just an attempt to simulate one possible
configuration of an MI. To make AI as complicated as a brain you’d
have to program in everything a brain can do. To make MI as complicated
as a brain you simply have to scale up the (yet unknown) central algorithm and
the hardware. Bash is a good example of a well thought
out user interface being completely ignored by a huge majority of the
population because it has too few limits. GUIs on the other hand, succeed
because they limit the user much more, thus cutting down the amount of thinking
required to get any given thing done. --M@ From:
