Which character is that? -Eppcott

It is from Russian sci-fi writer Pavel Shumil (real name Pavel
Shumilov) cycle "The Word about the Dragon" (it is the name of the
first book, the cycle itself has no official name). Character name is
Djafar (as close as I can transcribe it from Russian), and he is a
Dragon (although ex-human). To be honest, he is not MY favorite
character, he is favorite character of one of my good friends, but I
like the quotation too. And to be absolutely honest, Djafar doesn't
say it from the first person, some other character says it about him
in third person.
