Adoption of a system depends on ease of use. Complexity to the user is
a type of "cost".

If users can record their voice directly to the website when posting,
it will be used often enough to attract more people to listen the
content, to become users, to attract more people. This positive
feedback loop has to reach escape velocity.

Until the software lets them do that, the cost in preparation effort
will be too high. It will not reach self-sustaining escape velocity,
then it will taper off to nothing in a negative feedback loop: people
realize they don't like all the work and stop posting, so there is
less content to listen to, so fewer people post, and so on.

There might be a solution for this that would fit. I'll keep thinking about it.

it actually just came to my mind that the old ICSL forums still exist.
the forums has a file upload feature, too.
