Standard Lojban Parser+Glosser rotting away (?)

coi mi'e hartmut

According to

   http://www.lojban.org/tiki/tiki-index.php?page=Dictionaries%2C+Glossers+and+parsers&bl

the "de facto standard glosser and parser for lojban" is

    jbofi'e
    http://www.lojban.org/tiki/tiki-index.php?page=jbofi%27e

When trying to find out more about the status of this project, I came to the
conclusion that it is basically defunct, and we must fear that, once the
server of lojban.org is upgraded, even the web-based

    Lojban Glosser
    http://www.lojban.org/jboski

will no longer work.

This is because the author, Richard Curnow seems to have abandoned the
software, and it no longer compiles under newer Linux systems (and probably
not under other newer systems either).

Debugging and maintaing this software requires expertise in flex, bison and
other systems which I lack and perhaps not many people have. Richard Curnow
seemed to be quite a rare expert.

Or is there someone on this list who could help out and assemble what is left
of this project and save it from bit-rot ?

This tool is indeed, as the introductory pages at lojban.org say, bound to
function as the "de facto standard" tool for anyone working with Lojban. It
is through tools such as this one that the language standards of Lojban gain
practical relevance and that learning hurdles can be overcome.
