As I understand it, some people begin the week on Sunday and others on Monday.
We can have the same names for six days of the week by using {zeldei} or
(nondei} for Sunday. But that leaves the Seventh-day Adventists with
{xavdei}.

I can see a trace of the controversy in Russian. Вторник, четверг, and пятница
indicate that Monday is day one, but среда indicates that Wednesday is the
middle day.

I was going by the translation jbofi'e gives. My two cents on the matter is, since Saturday and Sunday is commonly known as the weekEND, they should be 6 and 7, respectively. It really doesn't matter to me either way, though, I'll go with whichever way is decided.
