I'm trying to translate "All community members are invited to vote in
Wikimedia Board Election."
The first part, I have "ro se cecmu cu se curmi"; a bit of a tongue-twister,
but not so hard.
I don't know how detailed you want the translation to be, but
I think "invite" has a component of enticing. Allow is "you may
do it if you want (I may not care whether you do it or not)", while
"invite" is more like "you may do it if you want (and I will be glad
if you do)". Maybe {xlura} is closer.
Also, x2 of {curmi} is an event, so if you want to use {curmi} you
really need something like:
ro da poi se cecmu zo'u curmi lo nu da ...
because the quantifier has to be outside the permitted event.
For "vote", jbovlaste gives "cmicu'a", although I don't know how widely
accepted that is. The place structure of cmicu'a is "cm1=cu1 votes for cu2
among choices cu3 in voting group cm2". I take that to mean that x1 is the
voter, x2 is candidate receive the vote, x3 is the list of candidates, and
x4 is the electorate. There's no place here for the type of election, in
this case "Wikimedia Board Election", or the office to which the candidates
are elected. Any suggestions on how to express that?
I've used {pagbu} for "x1 participates in event x2", so how about something
like:
ro se cecmu cu .e'e pagbu lo nu cuxna lo trukamni be la uikimedias
mu'o mi'e xorxes
