[lojban] Re: Lindar is very nice to volunteer! (was Re: Re: smart.fm and fooling text-to-speech)
Seeing as the name of the .mp3 file needs to be the same as the entry itself, the naming is rather easy, and since the document '
tinyurl.com/smartfmgismu' can be downloaded, it's a rather simple matter to get the needed entries as well.
I can't do this myself due to not having access to my computer at this point, but you could probably bash script it. Assuming that Orca is on Linux, and operates as >orca {input text} {output file} -{options}, the actual recording execution would be 'orca %1 %1.mp3', with a for loop to read in each of the column 'H' entries into %1. The hard part, I imagine, would be extracting column 'H' into a text file.
So, at a guess, maybe 5 minutes to extract 'H', 10 minutes to code the bash script, 45 minutes to debug and make sure it works correctly. So, my conservative estimate on the amount of time it would take to record an audio file for each of the entries is two hours, not including the amount of time spent leaving the computer on and waiting for the script to finish, or the time required to upload the files (archived or otherwise) to '

OK, so here I am with a bunch of code designed to expect sound
files (which doesn't quite work, but that's a problem on smart.fm's
end that I expect to be resolved soon).
So, now what?
