[lojban] Translating names - mom

How would one refer to one's mother in Lojban?  Perhaps "mamta"? 
Perhaps the cmene "mam" for short (since it is a rafsi)?

What about one's father - "patfu" or "paf"?

Would a baby have trouble saying these things?  It seems to me babies
like to say things that end in vowels - perhaps we just encourage
that here in the U.S.
