I prefer 'x' because that makes it easier to figure out what the original
was (you only need to consider the possibility of it being a glue consonant
if it's an x, all other consonants you know come from the original) and
also it makes it more likely that diferent people will come up with the
same form independently, so you don't need to rely so much on one
authoritative source.
