I really can't see why it is probably too
strong. Believing without proof is something
we human beings do all the time. Not a week
ago, when somebody showed me a photograph
of a double sun halo they had taken during a religious
festival, I was ridiculed because I expressed my
belief that such phenomena are
caused by the refraction and reflexion of
sunlight through hexagonal prisms of ice.
At the moment I did not produce any
acceptable proof, so I left it at that.
OTOH, hurdening oneself with proofs for
each one of one's own opinions would be
really too strong.
