[lojban] What exactly is ranti?

My hair is soft, but not in the same way that tofu is soft. Rather, judging by 
my nails which are made of the same stuff as my hair, my hair is actually 
very hard. So should I say {lo mi kerfa cu jdari .iku'i loi mi kerfa cu 
ranti}, or should I say {lo sobjdu cu ranti .iku'i loi mi kerfa cu ...}?
