[lojban] ICSL software help needed
coi rodo
Many of you have probably read my entry from Saturday on the Lojban
blog, describing in specific detail a course methodology for an
Intensive Course in Spoken Lojban. If you haven't read it, please go
to http://community.livejournal.com/lojban/19506.html and comment on
whether you would take such a course as described. If you don't have
an LJ account, please sign your name to your comment.
ICSL needs volunteers-- even those who don't know any Lojban! The help
we need the most right now is creating or setting up web software that
will serve the course to the students and track their progress.
Basically it needs to be a sequence of web pages in which the student
may only advance to the next comic strip panel with embedded sound
file, by correctly answering a multiple-choice question. Actually it
doesn't have to be a sequence of webpages, it could be an applet or
something. The thing is, they shouldn't be able to just hack the URL
forward by one digit increment to advance past the question.
We'll also need a way for administrators to upload new comic strip
panels and sound files to edit and expand the course content. There is
supposed to be a vast number of small pieces of media, so the more
convenient that process is, the better.
Speaking of a vast quantity of content, we only have about a
half-dozen dedicated curriculum writers. The course will accumulate
slowly that way. If you know Lojban, this will be a great way to use
it, and to expand your own skills! You can sign up to help at
