of the box -- even Futhark is there!
I've just looked at this letter in Xubuntu. Simle "less letter.txt" in
terminal window.
No setup at all, system just installed from CD and no config files are modified.
All magical characters are properly shown. Maybe it is a wise idea not
to put a lot
of effort into UTF-8 setup, but upgrade to modern distro? [X]Ubutu is especially
appealing -- Debian-compatible but working out of the box.
