[lojban] Re: o'e vs i'i
Quoting Chris Capel <pdf23ds@gmail.com>:
{o'e} vs {i'i}. What's the difference?
I would say .o'e to .o'enai is emotional distance, closeness,
connection. ".o'enai" is like "feeling distant," being not connected.
.i'i to .i'inai is more like sociality, hanging out, togetherness,
camaraderie. ".i'inai" is like wanting to be alone, wanting some space.
So if you said "do .o'e .i'inai" that would be like "I feel close to
you, but right now I need some space", while "do .i'i .o'enai" would
be like "we're on the same team doing this together, but I don't
actually feel that close to you."
I've said a few times lately: "la lojban. .i'i" and what I mean by
that is: "Lojban, which we're all sharing together, which is our team,
Ra Ra Go Lojban."
If I were to say: "la lojban. .o'e" that would seem to me like
"Lojban, which I feel a close personal connection to, which is close
to me." Also true. :)
Just my opinions. :)
