Re: gismu

The Seraphim surely rejoiced when Logical Language Group spoke thus:

}You've been silent on these cultural gismu. I'm sure you have an opinion
}on whether there should be an addition or not (if not on which of them).
}The sentiment seems to be rather strong for adding some or all, but
}it may be only a vocal minority. I am therefore doing a quick poll of
}the voting memebers to see if action is warranted.

}And what action?

Dearie me. You haven't even polled Ivan yet --- so let me give you a sneak
preview of what he'll say by saying what I'll say: I'm opposed to additions.
I won't commit suicide if the additions happen, but the whole discussion is
starting to sound out of hand, and requiring some reining in. The addition
of maybe three or four gismu I'll regard as tolerable; if based on population
numbers, rather than which main language is spoken (thus Ethiopia, Kazakhstan,
etc.), I may even regard it as desirable. But the kinds of change advocated
by Jorge exasperate me. No change is better than that much change.

Incidentally, Eaton files unzip'd ok. I'll peruse them this afternoon.
