Re: WWW Server Statistics

I will provide his snail address following (assuming I can find it).
We have lynx here and I have tried uysing it with yours and other Web pages
but the terminal emulation may not be set right and whenb new pages overwrite
they improperly erase previous material, so that the screenn get5s
increasingly more crowded.

I am not sure I understand about the files you want me to download and what you want done with them, unless you are basically just talking about an offiste
backup of your efforts. We have all those capabilities here on digex (I
think - some people have talked about the Web server here), and cowan knows
WWW and lynx pretty well. But we have a massive 5 Meg to play with here before
we start psying for space, and Cowan's mail archives take up most of that
(he cannot keep stuff on his local machine at work, since he isn;t sure that
he won't suddenly lose the ability to dial in from work, and he has no home
machine =- so he keeps all his stuff worth saving either on the ftp site or
on digex. Myself - I have perhaps 100meg of archive stuff on my home machione
and keep nothing on the unix box that I don't have to - I find unix still to
be fairly impenetrable, because its utilities have such lousy
user interfaces, and because, since I capture everything for off-line review,
all the control stuff that goes on on-line makes the file VERY cluttered
and difficult to read off-line. Straight ASCII works SO much better, but
lynx and other unix stuff prefers ANSI or better VT-100 codes that make
text capture bad to useless (reading IRC logs off line, backspaces and all,
is getting to be a bit of an art %^)

At any rate, I will download the files you named, probably tonoite or tomorrow
noite. I'll let cowan play with whatever you want done with the gzip/tar
file. (I just got a pc version of gzip, thgough I have yet to actually try
it).
