I haven't even thought about it. It is likely however to be of more
interest to people who are not Lojban List subscribers, because the point
is to bring the rest of the community up to the same level of
information. In the past, the type of stuff that has been in JL has been
the sort of stuff that appears on Lojban List and the various Web pages
(probably more of the latter), but edited for a different audience (and
with all the context info added in).

Of course, the specific content will depend on the community
contributions. If someone wants to write something specifically for JL,
then we'll be likely to use it. Otherwise a good deal of the content will
be "best of the net". Since we have 6 years since the last JL, there is a
lot of stuff to choose the best of.

I doubt that I am going to make much effort to do something different or
fancy - at this point the priority will be to get back into publication.

JL has traditionally been 40-80 pages of 10 point text - enough text to
fill a small paperback if printed in book form.

You'll see what we have been doing when the Web pages go up with the last
few issues. I'm not creative enough to try for something new right now.

I'm not going to buy or learn new software to produce it. I'll be using
Microsoft Word at first, which I know; I have, but have never learned,
Pagemaker if I need anything fancier.

JL will be print only since it is paid subscriptions. The policy was that
after a year or so, we would put issues on line. The Board may decide to
change that, but at this point we have paid subscribers to meet obligations
to. Given that I have PDF output capability, I may use that option, but
such files take up more space than plain text, and it is not like we have
much reason to use graphics. (Nora used to do a cartoon, which was the
only graphic content on each issue.)

At this point we aren't picky - the words you already know will show up as
mastered quickly. That you learned these words will say something,
especially if they do not correlate with the frequency lists. The other
words will presumably show something about which words you don't know you
are able to learn quickly.

At this point, any data is better than no data (I actually have 2 data sets
from learners already, but we are playing a statistics game, here, so the
more data we have, the less that individual "taints" will mess up the data
analysis.)
