Re: [lojban] What the heck is this crap?

To wit: it is the opinion of the old-time experts that

ca ro djedi lo nanmu cu cinba la meris
lo nanmu ca ro djedi cu cinba la meris

are distinct in meaning.

This is hardly surprising. Places introduced with tags behave
just like core places. The difference between those two is
analogous to the difference between these:

fe ro ninmu fa lo nanmu cu cinba
fa lo nanmu fe ro ninmu cu cinba

More frighteningly, this implies that:

ca le nu broda kei lo nanmu cu cinba la meris
lo nanmu ca le nu broda kei cu cinba la meris

are distinct in meaning.

No, it does not, if by {le nu broda} you mean {le pa nu broda}.
Singular terms are very benign and can be moved around safely.
If it's {le za'u nu broda} then yes, they are distinct, but this
is hardly ever the case in practice.

Given all that, one of the following things is true:

1. The above are not, in fact, distinct in meaning.

2. xod and I are missing something in the Red Book (note in particular
10.23, which directly contradicts the above).

3. An erratta to the Red book is required.

Which is it?

I don't find anything in 10.23 about this. Can you be more explicit?
