How should diseases be called in Lojban? I've thought of a few, but they don't
follow a pattern, and I don't know if anyone else has come up with one.

skorbuti - x1 has scurvy with symptoms x2
fang.niukasl - Exotic Newcastle disease
nakri'a narganse terbilmo'a - androgen insensitivity syndrome
There might be another terbilmo'a which I forget.

Also, some diseases such as cold, flu, and heartburn are named for obsolete or
ill-fitting metaphors. Does anyone have better names for them?

I once tried to get away with { du'erpincykai terbi'a } for diabetes. -- In appropriate cases one could use fu'ivla with {vidru} or {jurme} : {vidrnbebola}. -- Some diseases are better named for their symptoms, like cirrhosis, which has many causes: { nu lo livga selci binxo lo jorne selci } ?! -- I suppose they'll be coined & glossed as needed, & derivation patterns will develop... -- mu'o mi'e komfo, amonan
