The previous question about learning materials reminded me of
something I have been wanting. Is there a book or set of material that
would provide the following:
I would like to "learn" lojban through learning why it was created the
way it was. What are cmavo, why are there cmavo at all (why not some
other way to do it, what were some alternatives and why not chosen),
why are the categories what they are, etc. What is the grammar and why
was it chosen to be the way it is...
So... basically a journey in both lojban and the linguistics
background that resulted in lojban. How does lojban reflect linguistic
science? Additionally, it would be interesting to hear would lojban be
done differently if we knew then what we know now?
Is there a reasonably small set of materials that would cover this, or
is this something that would have to be picked up in bits and pieces
all over?
Thanks!
