After trawling through the appropriate FAQ I find that they're not yet taking google into more languages, and lojban isn't on the list.

I think you sign up and start working in their translation section.  It's all automated.  A lot of places have such projects.  It looks like I (just barely) started a Lojban one at http://niretrad.nireblog.com/ last year already.
