I do not think it is safe to assume that the author considered that
distinction. If there was any reason to name this film "Elephants
Dream", that reason is not readily apparent.

It's a great film; I love it; but as it stands there are precious few
theories which would seem to hold up for long, about its plot,
setting, and the motivations of its characters.
