[lojban] Re: [lojban-beginners] [lojban-announcements] Web programming request, *very* simple. I think.

Yea, I have been thinking about what a lojban site using Drupal would
be able to accomplish, and managing content like corpus elements is
the sort of thing that would be dumb-easy (any other fans of CCK in
the house?). I've got my own development server, and can get a
prototype for the content management part up this week. Can you send
or link to the 80-percent lojban validation script?

-me

The script to collect the entries together is only as difficult as
determining specifications for the corpus-- one big block-o-xml is
trivial. I think the most forward-thinking implementation allows for
uploading lojban translations with optional original texts. Managing
associated translated texts is benchmark two.
<overboard>
Then in my dream world, the original texts get exploded into
sentences, and there is a separate interface on the website to align
the original sentences to lojban translations, which any lojbaner
could do, in turn generating a bunch of well-formed and meaningful
bi-lingual example sentences for learners [you know, to fill in some
example sentences on jbovlaste],
<insane>
and then when we all lose our jobs and have years of free time, the
corpus linguists among us could get a decoder up on this shit and
start cranking out awful automatic translations from natlangs into
lojban. Just imagine-- with a prescriptive grammar we could always
ensure syntactically valid awful translations.
