You're not alone.  I've had the web-site issue for about 4 or 5 days now.  I also thought I missed some sort of announcement, since people were still referring to web addresses in their emails.  :-)
Since I know it doesn't affect everyone now I'll start trying to play with my connection.

It seems to be fine here. Try again, maybe it will work this time. 

If not, you might be having some DNS server issues. I usually had the same problem when trying to enter Wikipedia :P Reconfigure your router/connection to use a different DNS server, like OpenDNS for example.
