In a nutshell:
It's a user-generated database of example sentences that automatically
links sentences that have been "indirectly" translated (through
another language). The result is any given sentence will have a dozen
or more translations. Applications for this data abound, but the
website is a great resource for language learning.

For reference:
It's similar to dict.cc, but with just sentences (not a dictionary),
many-to-one translation, more languages, and (much less) moderated
audio.
