You are correct. I was reading the story of the prodigal son, who in his 
wanderings took a job feeding pigs with κερατια. This looks like a diminutive 
of κερας (horn), but it means "carobs", and is translated "algarrobas" in 
Reina-Valera. It is the source of the Arabic word.
