Re: [lojban] Next thursday

Well, in English, I always refer to the day by it's week: Monday of this week is "this Monday", Monday of last week is "last Monday", and Monday of next week is "next Monday", and the same for the other six days of the week. So, yesterday (in my time zone it's Saturday right now, though close to Sunday) is "this Friday", in a few hours when it becomes Sunday, yesterday will be "last Friday" and "this Friday" will refer to the Friday following tomorrow..

Referring to the days by their week in this manner means that, as long as everyone involved uses this method, their is no possibility of confusion, and if anyone isn't using this method, it doesn't cause more confusion than otherwise.

So, for Lojban, I'd use:

bavla'i pavdei : last Monday (== Monday of last week)
cabna to .e cabyklo .e cabza'i toi pavdei : this Monday (== Monday of this week)
prula'i pavdei : next Monday (== Monday of next week)

Of course, you could always be explicit about the week bit as in Pierre's response, but I'm lazy, and my friends know me well enough to know the "of week" bit is always implied.

One thing I frequently have trouble with in english is being unsure what someone means when they "next monday".  Is it the next monday to occurr or the one following.  I haven't found anything in jbovlaste for this, so how do you all say these things in lojban doi jbocecmu?
