Arabic lived for more than 500 years as a poetry (and day-to-day) language with its people before it became the language of science for centuries more (after al-Qur'an of course)... My point is, we should take this a transitional stage towards a more sophisticated, easier to use and more culturally neutral language... I still don't like that Lojban only used six base languages; I'd rather it be 100% a priori language...
