Well, it would depend on the facts on the ground and what I wanted to say about it/them. I suspect that, like plural reference and L-sets, there fairly simple inter translations between our two stories. This is clear in the case of generalizations (as they are generally called), but the situation with nonce groups/ kinds is less clear: is there a permanent kind for every possible subject, some manifestations of which engage in a single, or are new kinds created to fit each situation, with all of their manifestations involved? Socrates was warned not to reject the notion that shit had a form, so is flying albatrosses with two haddocks in their throats a kind, and, if so, a permanent one or a nonce?

What about the situation where every day there is exactly one lion in my garden? Would you allow descriptions like "my daily lion" or "the lion in my garden" - singular lion?
