The roof and the ceiling are NEVER the same. The ceiling is the inside highest surface of an individual room, and the roof is the outside top surface of a whole building.

I'd say that lo drudi is fixed in place, whereas lo gacri isn't necessarily.

Also, English distinguishes a roof and a ceiling. A ceiling is the top surface
of a room and is usually horizontal. A roof is the part that covers the rest
of a building and is usually sloped. It is possible, but not common, for the
roof and ceiling to be the same; usually the ceiling is under the roof, and
the space between them is the attic. If a building has several stories, each
floor, except the lowest, is also a ceiling, but is not a roof. How do we
distinguish these in Lojban?
