Won't there be a list of abbreviations included to clarify their meanings? If ART is glossed as 'gadri', etc. it won't matter. OTOH, I personally would try to stay in the language of the article as much as possible. For Russian, I would use Russian abbreviations, although for German, I would use the German/French/English ART for 'Artikel/article'. Maybe not the best example for German, but I would use PL for 'Mehrzahl/pluriel/plural'.

since it's short and has a construct I've never seen in a natlang.
