But what are tags, if not prepositions?

If you want to explain the meaning, first you need to become fluent in
Lojban. Then you explain it in much the same way you would in English
or in any other language you are fluent in.

If what you want is a direct translation, then there isn't a
one-to-one correspondence. It depends on the context. "AT" is usually
"bu'u" or "ca": "at church" = "bu'u lo malsi", "at night" = "ca lo
nicte". "FOR" can be "seva'u": "I bought it for you" = "mi pu te vecnu
se va'u do", but there are other uses of "FOR". "TO" is very often
incorporated into the place structure of the selbri, so it usually
doesn't need a tag, but sometimes it can be for example "seka'a": "I
walked to school" = "mi pu cadzu seka'a lo ckule".
