If you're finding the vocabulary easy and the grammar hard, start
working on making simple sentences and seeing how much you can express
and understand. Avoid using tenses and tags; they aren't too
confusing, but they're more grammar and often aren't necessary.

Also, this post is probably more appropriate in the beginner's list.
