The same is true for translational movement, isn't it? We could have a
word for continuous movement in some direction, and a different word
for movement from one place to another. It's interesting that we only
have the latter for translational movement and the former for
rotational movement.

I wouldn't bother with the vo'a -gau thing. Just because "carna"
doesn't require volition, it doesn't mean that it precludes it either.
How about "mi carna co'u ca'u do"?

I prefer "kargau" for opening a door, but I find four uses of "cargau"
in the corpus, two of which seem to be mine:
