I think a few hours a week would work better to encourage people to be
on simultaneously with each other. Perhaps the server could go up at
noon Friday and go down at midnight Sunday/Monday.
I like your proposal for getting newbies engaged. but I also think it
would be nice to have something persistent, so that we can (as you say)
build lojbanistan. Perhaps there could be a persistent and a
nonpersistent world, and the wipes temporarily made the persistent world
inaccessible until we accomplished something appropriately difficult,
such as sacrificing a stack of diamonds at the Altar of the Wrathful Op.
