Actually, that is the 25th anniversary of the public announcement that
we made at the Evecon science fiction convention, when it was still
called Loglan 88. We started word-making the previous June (I'd have to
look up the exact date), and we renamed the language "Lojban - A
Realization of Loglan" in summer 1988 at LogFest.
But I think the Jan 1988 date is as good a date as any to serve for
anniversary purposes.
I'm not sure what you are asking "How do I want it to happen?". If you
are asking how the community plans to celebrate, I don't know that any
specific plans have been made. (I think I raised the question on the
LLG Board a few months ago, and perhaps it was Robin that said some
people were discussing the matter).
Does the community want LLG to do something official? If so, what?
The only thing I can think of would be an extra LogFest focused
specifically on the celebration, perhaps here in Fairfax (LogFest hasn't
been here for a decade or so), but I don't know if there is enough
interest (or whether Nora and I have the energy to plan things like we
used to). I guess someone could invent a 25th anniversary T shirt
using Cafe Press or something similar.
