        da'i is a UI, it attaches to the preceding word.

    Exactly, and to the grammatical unit bounded by that word (I think
    I didn't make that up).  Just as attaching it to the .i would
    attach it to the whole sentence, putting it after {lo} attaches it
    to the entire sumti-phrase.

    Otherwise, you could put it after the {be'o} that was elided.


Right. Duh. I don't know why I forgot that. Which lo, though?
