Re: [lojban] Someone pushing me to learn/practise Lojban

Well,
I've tried hard to do the task. I read twice LFB, once TCLL, I practiced
a lot with Memrise, I did assemble some bi-lingual translations, and
tried to memorize some short stories and read some of the posts in this
group. However, my proficiency in Lojban is still very modest.
Did you ever get a chance to use the language yourself? The things you
did sound good, but it's easy to forget a lot of what you learn if you
don't maintain it. It is a lot like gardening. ;)
But now I am loosing momentum... I quit Memrise for a couple of months
and now I cannot find a way to get back to where I was there...
Memrise is probably too boring, unless you love flashcards. If you don't
love them, working with real Lojban prose is probably more effective.
Since I am totally decided to learn Lojban, I need desperately some
help/company for not abandoning.
You do sound determined, which is a very good precondition.
Would be anyone available for giving me some *paid* assistance?
Something like spending two to four hours per week assigning me some
homework and then reviewing it or sending me questions/exercises on
Lojban, etc.? Of course I would like this person to have a reasonable
level of Lojban to be not my partner but my guidance.
I think I would generally be willing to help you, but allow me to think
about it for a day, first.
I do have some experience teaching Lojban, and I have gotten some good
feedback. Of course it also depends on whether or not you would be
willing to try it with me.
We should find a way for doing payments in a viable way, something as
paypal or credit card... or something else ... bank transfers are too
expensive... or maybe I can pay by doing internet purchases of books or
something like that that my tutor could need.
If payments are necessary, Paypal sounds reasonable.
