The English, Spanish, and Russian source words all mean a stopper or bark
suitable for making stoppers; neither refers to bark in general, though Latin
"cortex", which is at least partly the source of "cork" and "corcho", can mean
bark in general or cork specifically. ("cork" may come partly from "quercus",
as corks are made from oak bark.)
*Should "korka" be restricted to bark suitable for making corks?
*How about "ricpi'a" for bark in general?
*What do we call a stopper, which may or may not be made of cork?
